Charles Goldfinger is a Brussels-based international consultant in corporate strategy and economic policy, with particular expertise in financial services and Information Technology. Mr. Goldfinger advises European Commission on the financial aspects of electronic commerce and chairs Financial Issues Working Group (www.ispo.cec.be/fiwg) Between July 1988 and January 1995, Charles Goldfinger advised the Belgian Ministry of Finance, Philippe Maystadt, on the reform of the securities markets. Between March 1992 and November 1993, Mr. Goldfinger advised The Chief Executive of Belgacom, Belgium telecommunication operator, on key issues such as mobile telephony, value-added networks, cross-border alliances and privatisation posture. From September 1983 to April 1987, Charles Goldfinger was Product Planning Director for SWIFT, the leading international interbank funds transfer network. From 1975 to 1980, Charles Goldfinger worked at the World Bank in Washington D.C, with responsibility for projects in Latin America and East Africa. Mr. Goldfinger has published three books:
He regularly contributes articles on international economy and finance to leading French-speaking newspapers and magazines. Mr. Goldfinger has given numerous lectures and seminars for organisations such as World Economic Forum at Davos, World Bank, Eurostat, Management Center Europe, IBM Education Centre at La Hulpe and Institut des Sciences Politiques de Paris. A French national, he has a degree in architecture from the Ecole des Beaux-Arts in Paris and a Ph.D. in economics from the University of California at Berkeley. Born in 1946, Charles Goldfinger is married, with one child. |
