Every individual should be able to evaluate his state of health and the state of health of his environment on a daily basis. Metrology is an aid to understanding the self and one's natural surroundings by providing references and means of verification. Suitable, portable instruments for measuring water and air quality, the quality of food, the state of one's body (auto-analysis), of plants and animals should be available. Thereby everyone can share responsibility for life, with each individual in charge of monitoring their gardens and themselves. On a wider scale, world networks for analysis, testing and industrial metrology and remote monitoring of the environment by satellite need to be set up and their results made available to everyone. The right of every person to information on what s/he eats, breathes, on all products sold to them and to information on information should be enshrined in law. |
Chacun doit pouvoir évaluer, dans la vie quotidienne, l'état de sa santé et de son environnement. La métrologie vient aider la connaissance de soi et de la Nature, en lui fournissant des repères et des moyens de vérification. Il faut les instruments adéquats et portables pour mesurer la qualité de l'eau, de l'air, des aliments, l'état de son corps (auto-analyses), celle aussi des plantes et des animaux. De la sorte, la responsabilité de la vie sera répartie entre tous, chacun étant le gardien de son jardin et de lui-même. A plus grande échelle, il faut des réseaux mondiaux d'analyse, d'essais et de métrologie industrielle, de télé-surveillance de l'environnement par satellite, dont les résultats soient accessibles à tous. Il faut aussi établir un droit de chacun à l'information sur ce qu'il mange, ce qu'il respire, et tous les produits qu'on lui vend, et aussi à l'information sur l'information. |
